Diversions in place for this weekend’s Scottish Half MarathonRoad closures this Sunday (19 September) in East Lothian

A number of road closures will be in effect in parts of East Lothian on Sunday 19 September to allow the Scottish Half Marathon to take place.

This year’s event starts at Meadowmill Sports Centre, taking runners along the golf coast, with participants crossing the finish line at Musselburgh Racecourse. As a result of the road closures, a number of our services will be subject to diversions, details of which can be found below.

 

The Service 26 will follow this diversion:

Service 26 (Seton Sands)
Between 0600 hrs – 1600 hrs (approximately), buses will be unable to serve Seton Sands, Cockenzie and part of Prestonpans and will be diverted from Levenhall roundabout via Haddington Road, B1361 and Preston Road, terminating at Preston Lodge High School.

Service 26 (Tranent)
Between 0600 hrs – 1030 hrs and 1200 hrs – 1600 hrs (approximately), buses will be unable to serve part of Prestonpans. Between Levenhall roundabout and Preston Road, buses will be diverted via Haddington Road, B1361 and Preston Road in both directions.

Service 26 (Tranent)
Between 1030 hrs – 1200 hrs, buses will be unable to serve Prestonpans and Meadowmill. Between Levenhall roundabout and Tranent High Street, buses will be diverted via Haddington Road, A199 and Edinburgh Road in both directions.

PLEASE NOTE: Between 0550 – 1600 hrs, a free shuttle service will operate between Prestonpans and Seton Sands (as indicated by the dotted blue line on the map above).

 

Service 106, 113 and 124 will be diverted as follows:

From 0500 hrs – 1600 hrs (approximately), between Musselburgh High Street and Haddington Road (Levenhall roundabout), buses will be diverted via Newbigging and Pinkie Road in both directions.

 

Service 124 will be diverted as follows:

Between 0600 hrs – 1030 hrs and 1200 hrs – 1600 hrs (approximately), buses will be unable to serve Gullane, Aberlady and part of Longniddry. Between Longniddry (Main Street) and Dirleton, buses will be diverted via B1377, Drem and B1345 in both directions.

Between 1030 hrs – 1200 hrs, buses will also be unable to serve Longniddry and Prestonpans. Between Strawberry Corner and Dirleton, buses will be diverted via A199, A1, Gateside, A199, A6137, B1377, Drem and B1345 in both directions.

PLEASE NOTE: Between North Berwick (Church Road) and Aberlady (Community Hall), a free shuttle bus will be provided for connections to Gullane and Aberlady (as indicated on the map below).
