Award Win for Lothian Communications TeamFirst time win at the CIPR PRide Awards

We were delighted to see our communications team win the Oustanding In-House Public Relations Team award last night at the Scottish CIPR PRide awards.

The Chartered Institute of Public Relations is the leading body for public relations in the Europe and it’s Pride Awards recognise the achievements of public relations professionals, teams and agencies from across the UK.

This is the first time our team has entered this award and it is fantastic for them to be recognised outside our industry for the work they do.

Over the past two years, the Lothian communications team have completely overhauled how they manage all communications both internally and externally and have placed focus on proactive publicity focussed around core strengths of service, environment, innovation and community.

Key highlights for the team include the handling of Beast from the East, visits from politicians such as First Minister Nicola Sturgeon and Scottish Conservative Leader Ruth Davidson and the team’s developed commercial and charitable relationships with major businesses across the UK.

The award judges stated

‘The Lothian team has shown us just what can be achieved through the power of communications. This is a classic turnaround story, from being in a position with a poor reputation and understandable internal suspicion of the media, to returning to the spotlight and forging forward new partnerships with major players. The team helped show a softer side to the company, embarking on a range of engaging tactics, which placed them in a position to make the most of the news story when one of their drivers heroically averted disaster during the Beast from the East. Excellent results all round.’

Well done from all of us
