Leith Street Closure – 2 September 2017Make sure you know what is happening with your bus service

Leith Street will close to all traffic on 2 September 2017 resulting in diversions to many of our bus services.

The road is expected to be closed until Summer 2018 to allow for the redevelopment of St James Centre.

The main buses affected will be services 1, 4, 5, 7, 8, 14, 19, 22, 25, 34, 45 and 49 which will follow a different route and stopping pattern. Services 15, 26, 35, 44, X15, X26 and X44 will all operate on their normal routes with minor diversions at London Road / Easter Road / Montrose Terrace.

We recommend our customers check to see how this affects them in advance and find out where their closest bus stops will be.

Sarah Boyd, Operations Director at Lothian, said:

With less than a month to go before the route closes, we strongly encourage customers to download our app or use our website to see how their journey could be affected.

There is no doubt that this will have a significant impact on our services and customers but we’ve worked extremely hard to minimise this. We thank our customers in advance for their understanding and patience during the redevelopment of the centre.

Information on the changes can be found on our buses, in our Travelshops and on our social media channels now and throughout the construction works.
