Lothian to mark Remembrance DayServices will pause where safe to do so to pay respect

Bus services will pause - where it is safe to do so - for two minutes at 1100 hrs on Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day.

On Remembrance Sunday (Sunday 10 November) and on Armistice Day (Monday 11 November), our services will pause (where safely able to do so) for two minutes at 1100 hrs to allow colleagues and customers to pay tribute to all lives lost in the world wars and subsequent conflicts since then.

Lothian is proud to employ a number of colleagues who currently serve in the reserves or are ex-armed forces personnel, and the Poppyscotland appeal is particularly close to our hearts and minds throughout the month of November. On Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day, colleagues who have military backgrounds are invited to wear their Veterans’ Ties as a mark of respect.

There will also be some road closures in effect across our network to allow various Remembrance Day events and services to take place. Please visit our Service Updates page to learn more.

Lothian's Poppyscotland bus was in attendance at Edinburgh Poppy Day on Thursday 31 October.

We are delighted to be continuing our partnership with Poppyscotland, who are reliant on the generosity of the public to fund its vital life-changing work for the armed forces community in Scotland. Our Poppyscotland liveried bus was in attendance at Edinburgh Poppy Day on Thursday 31 October, where the charity officially launched their 2024 Poppy Appeal.
