Meet GordonOne of our Seafield team

As part of our series of interviews with some of our longest serving employees for our centenary year celebrations, meet Gordon, who works at our Seafield Garage.  He has been at Lothian for 31 years.

When did you start working with the company?
I started working with Lothian in November 1988 as a part-time sweeper.

What role were you in / what do you do now?
I was taken on full time in 1989 as a shunter before moving on to work in the body shop at Shrubhill.  In 2000 I became a Trimmer repairing upholstery, backrests and drivers seats on our buses.

What is the biggest change you have seen in your time with the company?
It’s good to see our buses are vandalised less often now and the other big change is the size of the company with the expansion into East and West Lothian.

Tell us your favourite Lothian memory?
I have made lots of different things for the company including the recent range of moquette merchandise – cushions, footstools and hot water bottles but the strangest thing I have been asked to make was a moquette bra to be worn at the Moonwalk!

What are you looking forward to about this years celebrations?
I really enjoy seeing all the memories that we are sharing from the last 100 years.
