May is here, spring has arrived and there are Monday holidays to look forward to this month.  If you’re wondering what’s on in in the City, here’s our top 5 tips for you.

1. Have a ‘Wicked’ night out.

West End smash hit musical Wicked flies in the Edinburgh Playhouse next month from Tuesday 8 May – Saturday 8 June.

The only Scottish venue on the tour, there has never been a better time to discover ‘The gravity-defying ‘Wizard of Oz’ prequel’ (Time Out London) which tells the incredible untold story of the unlikely friendship between two young women whose extraordinary adventures in Oz see them fulfil their destines as Glinda The Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.

2. Hop on a Bus and a Boat

Following on from the success of last years event, FLY Open Air is returns to Hopetoun House on 19 May with a great line up which includes SETH TROXLER, GERD JANSON, DENIS SULTA and JAYDA G.

It will be an 11 hour showcase of the worlds top electronic live acts & DJs.

4. Visit a Festival

The Edinburgh Craft Beer Festivalruns from 25th – 27th May at The Biscuit Factory in Leith.  It will be three days of good beer, tasty street food and fantastic music. As the festival says… ‘this is going to be pretty special!

5. Take in some Culture

Edinburgh has many art gallerieswith something for everyones tastes and most are free to visit.  Whether your taste is modern, contemporary, portaits or Scottish, photography or surrealism why not so something different this month.
