Partial closure of Princes Street – bus & tram information

Due to the partial closure of Princes Street following a building fire on Thursday 9 July, Lothian bus services are being diverted, and Edinburgh Trams are running part-route at this time.

The road closure on Princes Street – between South Charlotte Street and Frederick Street – remains in place until further notice. We continue to work closely with our partner agencies to help keep the city moving.

Edinburgh Trams are operating between Edinburgh Airport and the West End only at this time. Ticket acceptance is in place for tram customers with ScotRail between Edinburgh Gateway and Edinburgh Waverley, and on Lothian services between the West End and Newhaven. Trams will only resume service in the north of the city when it is safe to do so.
