On Sunday 27 July, Lothian hosted a Charity Football Match at Ainslie Park (home of Spartans FC), raising £2,052 for our Charity of Choice, Age Scotland.
With two teams taking to the pitch – one with players from our operations team led by Chief Operations Officer Willie Hamilton, the other with colleagues from the ‘Rest of Lothian’ captained by Engineering Director Dylan Dastey – it was a fantastic game played in a great sporting manner. Our Rest of Lothian team ran out 9-2 winners in the end, with great skills on display from players across both sides. The Rest of Lothian’s Jordan Deegan was named Player of the Match after a fine performance.
As well as the action on the pitch, there was plenty for younger spectators to enjoy in the stadium grounds with Bubble Football and face painting. Colleagues from Age Scotland were also on hand throughout the day to raise awareness of the charity and the invaluable services they provide to older people across Scotland.
