Service 4
Minor timetable changes
Service 12
Revised route and timetable.
A revised route will operate via South Gyle Broadway (instead of South Gyle Crescent). This will provide more buses for the residents of South Gyle.
South Gyle Crescent/South Gyle Industrial Estate will no longer be served by Service 12. Analysis shows that customer numbers on this section are very low. Service 18 and the early morning service 22A will continue to serve South Gyle Crescent, with bus connections available at each end of South Gyle Cresent and bus, tram and train connections also available via the footpath to Edinburgh Park Station/Hermiston Gait.

Service 12 will also operate a full evening service. Evening journeys that currently terminate at Broomhouse Road will be extended to the Gyle Centre. On Monday to Friday and Saturday, earlier journeys will be introduced from Portobello and later journey to Portobello.
Where possible, journeys will be coordinated with Service 22 between Lothian Road and the Gyle Centre offering regular departures.
An extra bus will also be introduced to the timetable to improve reliability and frequency of the service, particularly during Monday to Friday peak times.
Service 15
Revised timetable.
Following customer feedback and analysis, an additional Monday to Friday journey will be introduced from Easter Bush to Morningside at 16:12 to help with demand on this corridor.
Customers travelling to Fairmilehead, Comiston and Morningside are encouraged to use this new journey to create additional capacity on the existing 16:02 journey for those travelling further into the city.
Service 17
Minor timetable changes
Service 22/22A
Revised route and timetable.
A revised route will operate via Stenhouse Drive, Gorgie Road, Chesser Avenue, Slateford Road, Angel Park Terrace to West Approach Road. Following customer requests, this will reinstate the bus link between Slateford Road and Edinburgh Park/Gyle Centre that had historically been provided by Service 35 and latterly Service 300.
Stevenson Drive, Balgreen Road and Stevenson Road will therefore no longer be served by Service 22, but will continue to be served by Services 1, 2 and 30.
For journeys between the Balgreen area and Edinburgh Park/Gyle Centre, we recommend:
- Edinburgh Trams from Balgreen Tram stop.
- Service 2 to Hermiston Gait, then transferring to Edinburgh Trams or to Services 32 or 36.
- Service 1 to Saughton Tram stop and then transfer to Edinburgh Trams.
- Service 1 and 2 to Stenhouse Drive and then transfer to Service 22.

There will also be a revised Monday to Friday and Saturday daytime frequency, with services operating every 30 minutes.
Where possible journeys will be coordinated with Service 12 between Lothian Road and Gyle Centre offering regular departures.
Each day, two early morning journeys will continue to operate as Service 22A via South Gyle Crescent.

A revised route will serve West Craigs via Turnhouse Road and Craigs Road when infrastructure becomes available.

The addition of the bus gate on Turnhouse Road will ensure consistent journey times and a more reliable timetable for residents in East Craigs and West Craigs.
Service X47 journeys will be extended from Cammo to start/finish at East Craigs, providing an alternative connection to the city centre at peak times.
There will also be a revised route with Polton Mill journeys extended to Rosewell, part-replacing Service 46 which will be withdrawn. In addition to Service X31, this will provide a direct connection for Rosewell into Edinburgh city centre, all day, 7-days a week. Connections between Rosewell and Dalkeith will be available at Bonnyrigg Toll via Services 39 or 140/141.

The Monday to Friday morning school journey between Rosewell and Bonnyrigg will continue to operate, as Service 31, during term time. We will also introduce an additional journey Monday to Friday at 08:04 from Gilmerton Station Road to the West End to provide additional capacity along Lasswade Road.
Service X31

Service X31 will operate via a revised stopping pattern. Buses will now stop at Gilmerton Dykes Street (Lasswade Road Crossroads) to improve connectivity with Lothian orbital routes provided by Services 7 and 18. This will maintain the peak time links between Bonnyrigg and Little France (for Royal Infirmary) and will introduce a direct connection between Brixwold and Edinburgh city centre, supplemented by new local links provided on Service 39.
The route between Newtongrange and Gorebridge will no longer be served, however more frequent journeys will be provided on Service 48 which continues to provide direct connections with the Royal Infirmary. Services 29 and X29 continue to provide direct connections with Edinburgh city centre.

This will improve direct links between south Bonnyrigg and Dalkeith with the growing housing development at Brixwold added to the bus network (Monday to Friday peak time connections will also be introduced for Brixwold on Service X33).
Coordinated with Services 140/141, this will provide up to 3 buses per hour between Dalkeith, Eskbank and Bonnyrigg, operating Monday to Friday and Saturday.

Rosewell
To view timetable PDFs for each service, tap the headings below.
Service 31
Service 31 will be extended from Polton to Rosewell. This will provide a direct connection for Rosewell into Edinburgh city centre, all day, 7-days a week following requests by the local community.

Service X31
Service X31 will continue to offer a fast journey into the city centre during peak times on Monday to Friday.

Service 46 (WITHDRAWN)
Service 46 will be withdrawn. In May 2023, Service 46 was introduced as a partial replacement for Service 49 in Midlothian to provide additional connectivity across the region and improve service reliability. While customer numbers have increased, they have failed to grow to the levels expected or required to sustain the cost of operating the service in the long term.
Please note that the morning school Service 46 journey between Rosewell and Bonnyrigg will now operate as a Service 31.
Over the last 3 years the level of customer usage in Rosewell has remained consistent, however it is not at a level that can sustain two separate bus services – a service into Edinburgh and a local Midlothian service.
During this time, we have had a significant number of requests for a direct Rosewell to Edinburgh bus service, all day and all week. We are confident that this alteration now meets the expectations of the majority of bus users in Rosewell.
Service 39 (NEW SERVICE)
A new Service 39 will be introduced between Polton, Bonnyrigg and Dalkeith complementing Services 140/141. Services 31 and X31 offer connections to the Lothian network at Bonnyrigg Toll and Lasswade Road Crossroads.

- For journeys between Rosewell and Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, we recommend using Services 31 and X31 to Lasswade Road Crossroads and then transferring onto Services 7 or 18.

- Except for some minor timetable changes, there are no changes to the Hopefield branch of Service 31
- A new timetable with revised running times will improve service reliability
A revised timetable will be introduced on Service X31 to better coordinate with Service 31 and improve reliability. To improve connectivity to the wider Lothian orbital bus network, Lasswade Road Crossroads will now be observed by Service X31. To accommodate this additional stop, the lightly used stop at Liberton Hospital will be removed.

Service 46 (WITHDRAWN)
Service 46 will be withdrawn. In May 2023, Service 46 was introduced as a partial replacement for Service 49 in Midlothian to provide additional connectivity across the region and improve service reliability. Service X33
In order to test customer demand for new local links, Service X33 will be revised to serve Bonnyrigg, Cockpen and Brixworld before continuing to Edinburgh via Mayfield and Dalkeith.
The service will operate on Monday to Friday with four morning journeys and three afternoon journeys. This will create new links for Brixworld and Cockpen into Midlothian and Edinburgh. The change retains a direct link from Bonnyrigg to the Royal Infirmary (A7 stops) at key times.

Services 140/141
Services 140/141 will see an improved timetable offering better reliability, and an earlier Sunday morning journey.
Services 39 and 140/141 will be coordinated, providing up to 3 buses per hour between Dalkeith, Eskbank and Bonnyrigg, Monday to Friday and Saturday.
For journeys between Bonnyrigg and Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, we recommend:
- Services 31 and X31 to Lasswade Road Crossroads, transferring onto Services 7 or 18.
- Monday to Friday peak times using Service X33. The journey time is longer than the current Service 46 but continues to offer a direct link to the Royal Infirmary.

Service 139 (RENUMBERED)
