Thousands of visitors attend Lothian’s Doors Open Day!

Last Saturday (September 27), Lothian hosted our annual Doors Open Day at our Marine depot as our much beloved event visited the seaside once again this year.

As always, we were overwhelmed with the support of the public, with approximately 5,000 visitors joining us at the event over the course of the afternoon.

Crowds were treated to a fantastic display of classic buses courtesy of the Lothian Bus Consortium Trust while partners including Edinburgh Zoo, Andy’s Man Club, and Police Scotland kept visitors engaged at their stalls. Our very own Lothian Catering Team also did a roaring trade, fuelling guests with delicious hot food and refreshments.

As always, entry was free, with donations invited in support of our charity partner, Age Scotland. Their team of volunteers were on-site with buckets and card readers to collect contributions from visitors. A whopping £1,732.52 was raised on the day which will help support older people living in communities across Edinburgh and the Lothians – a big thank you goes to everyone who donated on the day.

We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who came along to the event, making the day so special, including our dedicated team of colleagues who gave up their free time to volunteer.

We’re looking forward to Doors Open Day 2026 already!
