Travel by Bus to Hidden Door 2025Lothian to operate additional services to the city centre after the festival

The Hidden Door festival takes place in Edinburgh next week from Wednesday 11 June to Sunday 15 June at The Paper Factory. With bumper crowds expected, Lothian will be delivering additional services to provide travel connections after the event.

Hidden Door 2025 is a unique arts festival which takes place over five days featuring live music, visual art, immersive pop-up performances and special events.

The Paper Factory, 1 Turnhouse Road, is easily accessible via bus, with various Lothian and Lothian Country services serving bus stops within a short walking distance from the venue.

Getting to the Festival

Lothian Service 31 operates from South Bridge, Princes Street, Shandwick Place and Haymarket right to the North Gyle Terrace bus stop on Maybury Road. During the day Service 31 operates up to every 15 minutes.

Lothian Country Services X18 and X19 operate from Regent Road, Princes Street, Shandwick Place and Haymarket right to the Maybury Road bus stop. Both services operate up to every 30 minutes. If you are travelling on Services  X18 and X19, you must tell the driver you are alighting at Maybury Road upon boarding the bus.

Airlink 100 serves Maybury Road, towards Edinburgh Airport, up to every 10 minutes. If you are travelling on our Airlink Service 100, you must tell the driver you are alighting at Maybury Road upon boarding the bus.

Returning from Hidden Door to the City Centre

Services 31, X18 and X19 operate until midnight from the Maybury Road bus stop.

The fastest way back to the city after the festival is on our Airlink 100 Service between Maybury Road and Waverley Bridge, via Haymarket, Shandwick Place and Princes Street, where customers can connect to Lothian’s NightBus network to complete their journey home. 

Lothian will operate additional journeys on Airlink 100 at 00:15 and 01:15 on the evenings of 11-15 June to serve the festival.

Fares on our Services 31, X18 and X19 cost £2.20 for an Adult Single ticket and £5.50 for a City Day ticket.

Fares on our Airlink 100 cost £3.50 for an Adult Single ticket. Our City Day ticket is not valid on Airlink 100.

Operating between Ocean Terminal and Edinburgh Airport, via the north and northwest of the city, Lothian Service 17 serves Maybury Road, just a short distance away from the festival.

From West Lothian, two Lothian Country Services can deliver you straight to the doors of the festival.

Lothian Country Service X18 and Service X19 serve Maybury Road travelling towards Edinburgh City Centre. This stop is just a short walk from the venue.

Returning from Hidden Door to West Lothian

Lothian Country NightBus Service N18 operates on Friday and Saturday nights from Maybury Road to Bathgate via Broxburn, Uphall, and Deans.
