Service diversions for ‘People’s Procession’Road closures to be in place on Wednesday 5 July

** Updated at 1557 hrs on 5 July: Roads remain closed at this time following events in the city centre, with anticipated reopening around 1630 – 1700 hrs. Please check back for a further update on when roads reopen and service resume. **

Due to events being held on Wednesday 5 July, including a People’s Procession, to mark the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III and Her Majesty Queen Camilla during Royal Week, several streets in the city centre will be closed between 1000 hrs and 1600 hrs.

This will affect Services: 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, 14, 23, 27, 29, 30, 31, 33, 35, 37, 45, 49 and 124.

Between South Clerk Street and West Approach Road/Morrison Link, buses will be diverted via Hope Park Terrace, The Meadows, Earl Grey Street, Lothian Road and West Approach Road.

Service 5 will operate in two separate sections.

Buses to/from Hunter’s Tryst will terminate at Surgeons‘ Hall.

Buses to/from The Jewel will terminate on Leopold Place.

Service 7 will not operate between 1000 hrs and 1600 hrs. Please see map for alternative buses from Ferniehill area.

Service 8 will not operate between 1000 hrs and 1600 hrs.

Between Argyle Place and Leith Street, buses will be diverted via The Meadows, Earl Grey Street, Lothian Road and Princes Street.

Service 14 will only operate in the north of the city centre.

Service to/from Greendykes will not operate.

Service to/from Muirhouse will terminate at Elm Row.

Between Tollcross and Dundas Street, buses will be diverted via Lothian Road, Princes Street, George Street and North Hanover Street.

Between South Clerk Street and Frederick Street, buses will be diverted via Hope Park Terrace, The Meadows, Earl Grey Street, Lothian Road and Princes Street.

Between Fountainbridge and Easter Road, buses will be diverted via Lothian Road, Princes Street, Leith Street and London Road.

Between Queensferry Street and Nicolson Street, buses will be diverted via Charlotte Square, Lothian Road, Earl Grey Street, Lauriston Place, Potterrow and Nicolson Square.

Between Leith Street and Home Street, buses will be diverted via Princes Street, Lothian Road and Earl Grey Street.

Service 49 will only operate the north section of the city centre. 

Service to/from Royal Infirmary will not operate.

Service to/from Fort Kinnaird will terminate at Elm Row.

Service 124 will terminate at Frederick Street. Buses will not serve Lothian Road, Earl Grey Street and Semple Street during this time.
