Win at the National Transport Awards for East Coast BusesFirst time win at the awards for the company

East Coast Buses, part of the Lothian family, have been awarded the coveted Excellence in Travel Information and Marketing Award at this year’s National Transport Awards.

The award was received in recognition of the marketing and customer information campaign which ran prior to the company’s launch through to when operations began last summer to raise awareness of the new company and its services.

The Excellence in Travel Information and Marketing Award recognises the outstanding contribution and efforts of the business made to ensure that customers were aware of the services.  This was achieved through development of the new East Coast Buses brand, advertising, community engagement, marketing partnerships and digital collaborations.

EastCoastBuses is a totally autonomous operation and our General Manager Mark and the team do an amazing job delivering a great travel experience for over 70,000 customers per week.

In the last 14 months, we have invested heavily in our people, our fleet and our premises and this award recognises our ability to win back trust from the East Lothian community, at a time when bus travel across the industry is in decline.

We’re pleased our work to introduce and develop these services has been recognised at National level as part of these prestigious awards and look forward to being part of the local community for years to come.

Since operation began we have introduced additional routes and services including a new Nightbus. This combination of development measures and dedication to customer service has resulted in customer growth of over 22% to date.
