New Lothian Buses training buses

Lothian Buses is introducing six new liveried training buses to its fleet, the first of which can now be seen on the streets of Edinburgh.

The single deck Volvo B7RLE buses, numbered TB101 – TB106 will be based at the company’s Longstone depot.

The new livery, which has been kept yellow to be easily recognised as a training bus now includes the new strapline ‘Do you have the drive?‘.

150 drivers are trained by Lothian Buses every year. Training to become a bus driver with the company takes five weeks and to qualify trainees must pass two practical and three theory tests.  Once qualified, new drivers are buddied up with experienced drivers for their first few days behind the wheel.
