Freedom of Information

We know people have an interest in the Lothian family and our business. If there’s anything you would like to know that you can’t find online, we’ll do our best give you this information unless there is a good reason for not doing so.

Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002

We’re a publicly-owned company and, as such, are subject to the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002. This means that when a request is made for information we hold, we’ll supply it in line with the provisions of the Act.

Looking for information

If there’s something you’d like to know, please check this website to see if the answers are there before submitting a Freedom of Information Request.

We have a helpful Frequently Asked Questions section, as well as a Document Centre where you’ll find the most recent versions of our main policy documents, including our Conditions of Carriage.

We also keep a list of the information that we publish that we encourage you to read before you make a request. The information is all grouped into subjects to make it quicker and easier to find what you’re looking for.

If you would still like to submit a Freedom of Information request please contact us. Lothian is a public authority for the purposes of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (FOISA) and we will respond to your request within 20 working days.

Sometimes there may be a cost incurred for providing the information that you request.
