Service changes from 25 February 2018What's involved in making sure you're informed

As you all know, some of our services and fares are changing this Sunday, 25 February.

We know it’s important for you to be able to get to your destinations on time and as quickly and easily as possible, which is why we regularly monitor our services to make sure they run as they should. We also keep an eye on developments across the city to see where new services may be required and speak to our customers and stakeholders to hear their thoughts.

All this information is used to keep us informed and to give you the best possible service.  A lot of work goes into every service change, across the business and a big part of this is making sure you know what is happening.

For this service change our first communications were issued over a month prior to these changes on 16 January.  Since then we have:

  • Printed 50,000 on bus change leaflets, 400,000 timetables and 30,000 route maps
  • Produced 17 staff notices
  • Placed 2000 service and fare change busbills on our buses
  • Vinyled 700 buses with fare change stickers
  • Stocked 3 Travelshops, 6 Park & Ride sites and 4 garages with timetables – as well as universities, libraries, shopping centres and colleges
  • Updating 3,000 bus stops
  • Produced 3,500 bus stop panels
  • Made service change videos to be placed on our 86 buses with onscreen displays
  • Updated over 100 web pages to go live on 25 February
  • Tweeted, posted and scheduled over 40 social media posts
  • Wrote 2 web stories – including this one!

We do all we can to keep you informed and be of help. Our twitter team will be on hand throughout the weekend to help anyone who needs a bit extra help with their travels over the first few of the changes.  We will also have street supervisors out on the streets to help at stops where we can.

As you can see it’s a big job but you’re worth it!
