Tour Desk Supervisor

Lothian Buses are the main bus provider in Edinburgh and the surrounding areas of Midlothian and East Lothian.  We are currently looking for a Tour Desk Supervisor to join our Edinburgh Bus Tours Team, based in Waverley Depot, this is a Full Time Permanent Vacancy. Hours of work are 06.30 – 15.30 or 15.30 – 00.30, 5 days over 7, totalling 42.5 hours per week.

Tour Desk Supervisor Responsibilities

  • Dealing with Rotas for staff
  • Collating and storing data on various Microsoft programs
  • Work closely with colleagues and peers to ensure the smooth running of the Tour Buses
  • Ensure close monitoring of KPI’s to maintain a high standard of performance
  • All other Supervisory duties as required by Management

Tour Desk Supervisor Requirements

  • You must be a competent user of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Strong communication skills in a customer facing environment
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Drivers Hours rules
  • Previous Cash Handling Experience
  • Ability to work under minimal instruction in order to fulfil duties as required

Breakfast Chef

Lothian Buses are the dominant bus provider in Edinburgh and the surrounding areas of Midlothian and East Lothian. We have an opportunity at our busy Central Depot location for a reliable Breakfast Chef working 35 hours per week.

Our Breakfast Chefs are hardworking individuals who can work on their own initiative and are key players in our kitchen teams. You will be working Monday to Friday 5am – 10am and Saturday 5am – 3pm, covering 35 hours a week.

Breakfast Chef Responsibilities:

  • The preparation, cooking and service of all breakfast foods
  • Ensuring we are adhering to all food hygiene regulations
  • You will also ensure that the kitchen is kept to a high standard of cleanliness.

Breakfast Chef Requirements:-

  • Good experience in cooking a full range of breakfast meals
  • Previous experience working in a busy breakfast environment
  • Experience in stock control and ordering
  • Excellent communication and team working skills
  • Highest standard of quality control
  • Health and safety training and a willingness to train assistant staff

Bus driver responsibilities:-

We are looking for excellent ambassadors for our business who will deliver high quality customer service along with:-

  • Ensuring the vehicle is driven safely at all times and to the high company standards
  • Engaging with customers and making sure they enjoy a safe and comfortable journey
  • Vehicle and route familiarisation
  • Assisting customers with potential queries
  • Comply with all company policies including the Safety and Environmental Policy Statements and Drugs and Alcohol Policy
  • Recording driving hours and reporting any incidents

Trainee Bus Driver requirements:-

  • Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points
  • Exceptional customer service skills and clear communication skills
  • Excellent driving skills and knowledge of traffic regulations
  • Flexibility to work various shift pattern including weekends and Bank Holiday

Engineering Administrator 

We are currently looking for an Engineering Administrator to join our Engineering team, based in the Central depot this is a Full Time Permanent Vacancy. Hours of work are 0730am to 430pm, Monday to Thursday and 0730am to 2pm on a Friday.

Engineering Administrator Responsibilities

  • Dealing with all aspects of vehicle paperwork involved in running a large PSV fleet
  • Collating and storing data on various Microsoft programs
  • Run reports from Engineering Systems and collating information for the Engineering Management Team
  • All other general Administration duties as required by Engineering Team
