‡ Your £60 initial payment is used to pay for travel between issue of your Ridacard and your first Direct Debit payment being made. To obtain a refund of money paid but not required to pay for travel, the card must be returned to Lothian Buses when your Direct Debit is cancelled.

To obtain your first Young Student Ridacard, please pop into one of our Travelshops with:

  • Your completed Application Form, click here to download
  • Your Proof of Age (e.g. passport, birth certificate)
  • Your Proof of Student Status (one of the of following):

    • a UK Student College or University matriculation card including photograph and expiry date, or
    • a Euro 26 Student card including a photograph and expiry date
    • an International Student card including photograph and expiry date

Sorry but no other form of student ID can be accepted. Remember to show your student ID EACH TIME you need to renew your Young

 

What happens if I lose my Young Student Ridacard?:

What if I lose my Ridacard ? Within four working days of your reporting that your Ridacard is lost, we will produce a replacement with the same expiry date. The charge is currently £3 and you will be responsible for any fares paid until your replacement Ridacard can be provided.

What if my Ridacard is damaged ? Where a Ridacard stops working because it has been damaged, within four working days of that damaged Ridacard being handed to us, we will produce a replacement with the same expiry date. The damage will be pointed out to you. The charge is currently £3 and you will be responsible for any fares paid until your replacement Ridacard can be provided.

What if my Ridacard fails ? Where an undamaged Ridacard fails to work, we will issue a replacement Ridacard free of charge and give you extra time to compensate for any inconvenience you may have experienced.
