Bus Diversions from 16 August 2008

Following on from tram works at Shandwick Place (and thanks for your patience), work will begin in Haymarket from 16 August 2008. This does not involve the complete closure of roads, but some minor diversions will take place with the temporary closure of the east bound carriageway at Haymarket Terrace.

The map below shows the bus diversion routes and bus stops closed whilst this work is being carried out.

This diversion will be in effect only at certain times during the tram works. At other times roads will be open as normal and buses will follow their usual routes.    
     

RED ROUTE – Lothian Buses Diversion

During the first phase of Haymarket diversions, all buses from Corstorphine Road TO CITY (i.e. eastbound) will divert via Haymarket Terrace, Rosebery Crescent, Lansdowne Crescent, Grosvenor Street and back onto normal routes at West Maitland Street. The stop on Haymarket Terrace wil be closed.

GREEN ROUTE – normal routes

Westbound buses from City Centre (and service 2) are unaffected and will follow their normal routes as shown by the green lines.

    
     

BUS STOPS affected during the tram works

The following bus stops will be temporarily closed at certain times whilst work is carried out in their vicinity:
Haymarket Terrace – opposite station (eastbound)
Notices will be placed at these stops to advise customers of closure dates and alternative bus stops.

The roads may be closed to traffic, but all shops are still open for businesss in and around Haymarket.

Future details of other bus diversions due to tram works will be made available near to their start time.
